A huge thank you for all your extensive and valuable feedback over the past few weeks! I've carefully considered all your suggestions and am excited to announce the features, based on your ideas, that will be implemented in the next release of SonicCrypt:
Opt-In Fan Profiles: Until now, only artist and DJ profiles have been public. To protect user privacy, we're introducing an opt-in option for fans. This means you can decide for yourself whether you want your profile to be visible to others.
Expanded DJ Set Management: While YouTube embedding is already available, I'll be adding the ability for DJs to post links to their sets on MixCloud and other platforms. An important note on this: YouTube allows embedding without tracking cookies, which isn't the case for many other platforms. To protect your privacy, we will therefore only support direct links rather than embedded players.
Favorite Artists & DJs: You will soon be able to favorite your preferred artists and DJs. When they post a new release, event, or DJ set, you'll receive a flash notification. I have made a conscious decision against publicly displaying favorites on profiles or implementing typical social media features like "likes" or download counts. SonicCrypt is meant to be a platform free of competitive pressure; there are other places for that.
Flexible Release Forms: Currently, the artist's name is automatically applied to all tracks in a release. This will become more flexible, allowing you to set different artist names per track (perfect for collaborations or aliases). Your main profile name will remain the default. Additionally, I will add support for posting lyrics and other descriptions for each song.
Remix Marketplace: The excellent idea from Tazento for a dedicated page for remix trades is also in the works! I'm still considering the best way to implement it, but it will definitely be added to the platform.
I think it should all be ready at the beginning of August.
